We are just a few hours away from ringing in the New Year. I know it has been a hard year (maybe hard last 3 years…) and we are always so happy to put the past year behind us because we just get wrapped up in the bad things that may have happened instead of reflecting on the amazing experiences we had. I wanted to change that mindset this year and instead want to reflect on the amazing adventures and experiences, while learning from some of the hard times.

There are some great things in 2024 happening but before we ring in the new year, let’s recap how amazing 2023 really was.

– I got a new hair style

June:
– Celebrated Pride
– Went to the Airshow
– Celebrated Fathers Day
– Graduated

July:
– Binks had to go to the vet… and be put in a straight jacket lol
– He got more exploratory
– I partnered with 1Up Nutrition
– I launched my Fitness App!
– We back packed for the first time

August:
– In my running era… ran two 5Ks in one week!

September:
– Celebrated Levi and Lo’s birthday’s
– Went to the Crater in Midway
– Went to Disney World for the first time

October:
– Kona and my fam came to visit
– Went on my first helicopter ride
– Ran another 5k
– Celebrated Halloween

November:
– Reconnected with friends to celebrate their wedding
– Celebrated Kona’s, Dad’s, Mom’s and my birthday

December:
– Reconnected with friends again to celebrate Ciera and baby Mave
– Snowboarding with bae
– Date night, first sleigh ride
– Celebrated Christmas

And with that, the 2023 is a wrap. Looking back while writing this, I am beyond blessed and so excited to move into 2024 with my people.
Wishing you the best New Years. We will see you in 2024!

Until next time, you are enough, you are doing your best, stay fearless 🖤 – T

I can’t be the only one who sees you

“I know you’re obsessed with me”- PSL

Guys! It’s officially pumpkin season. That means, weekly pumpkin recipes and where to go in Utah to have the most Halloween fun! But first . . . coffee!

Not any old coffee, an at home take on your favorite coffee chain’s

Ingredients:

Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew

Ingredients:

  • 12 oz Iced cold brew or black coffee
  • 1 pump Sugar free pumpkin syrup
  • 1 pump Sugar free vanilla
  • 2 Tsp Pumpkin puree
  • 3oz heavy cream
  • Pumpkin pie spice
  • Hand frother

Directions:

  1. Add ice to favorite cup, put coffee over ice
  2. Add 1 pump of Sugar Free Pumpkin syrup. Stir.
  3. In a separate small glass, add heavy cream, pumpkin and vanilla syrup. Froth with hand frother until foam/creamy
  4. pour cream foam over iced coffee; top with pumpkin pie spice
  5. Drink up!

Now that you have your coffee, let’s chat about 2 super fun night activities you can do this Halloween season with the fam! Kid friendly, Utah local! First up . . . . . Salt Lake City’s DreamScapes

“A world of pure re-imagination”

Dreamscapes is Utah’s first environmentally sustainable immersive art attraction! They have over 100 local artist helping keep Utah’s art scene alive!

It’s a hands on exhibit, allowing you to really immerse yourself in each artist creation. From giant octopus sculptures. . . .

. . . . To meditation rooms with lights reflecting your presence

We purchased tickets in advance, you must wear a mask the entire time and are temperature checked at the door. Super easy and though weird with masks, still a great time! What a time to be alive!

Saturday Night Scares Anyone?

When it comes to all things spooky, Utah does it pretty good! Last year was my first haunt here and it did not disappoint. From that moment, I fell in love with Spooky Halloween all over again.

Haunted Houses are my jam. . . . Even if they give me heart palpations and anxiety attacks. Count me in every time.

First visit of the month: Fear Factory SLC I give it a solid 4:

Why I loved it:

  • It was not a constant scream fest for me. There was a good amount of time I was able to look around and admire the work that went into making it
  • When it was scary it was scary. I felt immersed in the scene and at times struggled to see, understand who was human and who wasn’t and I loved every minute
  • They were strict on 6ft distance, wearing masks and had sanitizer stations
  • The end was dope AF! It scared the lights out of me… I can’t say more. Just go see it for your self!

What I didn’t like:

  • I wasn’t a huge fan of the drapes that hung down in entry ways. I was grossed out by everyone touching them. (Thanks Covid for making me a germ phobe)
  • There was 2 staff that were just rude. It doesn’t take much to be kind, it’s just a haunt, remember that. (Sign your waivers or they will get mad 🤪)

Over all: would recommend. They have a strict 6ft rule for distance but the characters don’t follow it… they make you wear a mask and sanitize before going in but do not check your purses or bags. If that is a deal breaker, might not be right to visit but I feel you should! It’s worth the waiting in line and listening to weird magic jokes.

I’ll leave you with what my Sunday consisted of: Ghost Photoshoot.

No caption needed 👻

A weekend of adventures in the books! If you visit any of the places above, tag us in your photos! We want to see the fun you have!

Adventure Awaits

Adventures in Utah

Hey friends!

If you haven’t heard, I have been MIA for a few weeks because I adulted so hard and bought my first house!

Screen Shot 2020-01-13 at 4.07.22 PM

So things have been chaos but they have finally settled down and I am all settled in. Just in time for my little sister gang to reunite!

My best friend flew in from Portland and my sister lives in Utah now so we reunited and it felt so gooooood. Imagine me singing that to you…

We have been exploring all over Utah. Coffee shops to Whiskey Bars to Ice Castles, you name it, we were trying it.

The three of us together is beyond outta control and I love it! I missed us so much.

Wanted to share all the amazing places we explored so the next time anyone visits Utah, you can have just as much fun as we did.

First stop, coffee:

Right before Mon got here, we found this cute AF Coffee Shop in Sandy, UT.

Meet The Bean Yard Coffee House

Screen Shot 2020-01-13 at 4.13.40 PM.png

I had an Oat Milk Latte and Lo enjoyed a Sugar Free Vanilla Oat Milk Latte. They were delicious!  Made so perfectly!

Screen Shot 2020-01-13 at 4.15.53 PM.png

The vibe and atmosphere was charming and had this Portland vibe. Good music playing, lots of open space to sit and enjoy your drink or work remote!

Will definitely be coming back to try more coffee and their treats which looked AMAZING!

Screen Shot 2020-01-13 at 4.17.26 PM.png

Next Stop: DOUGHNUTS

Doughnuts are one of my all time favorite carbs! I love me a good Doughnut and so we tried the North Carolina Famous, Duck Doughnuts.

Screen Shot 2020-01-13 at 4.19.22 PM.png

Now this is not your average Doughnut Shop. This place has these amazing flavors to choose from such as: Maple Bacon and Blueberry Pancake (which were my favorite may I add).

Here is the kicker, they are MADE TO ORDER! So you never have to worry about them running out and they are warm and gooey when you receive them! I am making myself crave these as I write this!

Screen Shot 2020-01-13 at 4.22.45 PM

They also had this amazing Winter Blend coffee which had end notes of Whiskey. It was bomb! They have locations all over, primarily the South East but if you are in Utah, we just got our very first location in South Jordan, UT! So if you are local or visiting, head over cause you do not want to miss this.

We are fueled so now it was time for the long drive over to Midway, UT.

Home of the Ice Castles!

Screen Shot 2020-01-13 at 4.27.07 PM

I will start by saying it was absolutely freezing. I recommend wearing warm boots and pants that are thicker than leggings. My peacoat was fine but it was snowing so not the smartest choice. Looked cute AF though!

Once we got in, I was taken away at how intricate every detail of these sculptures were. These photos do not do it any justice.

The colors were showing through, blue mesmerizing Ice Castles. All in which you could walk through or slide down. I tried to crawl into some but it was too cold to be laying all over ice. I did have the courage to sit on this thrown… leaving my bum super icey, haha. You sit on a throne of Ice… Ice Queen? Sounds about right… haha.

Screen Shot 2020-01-13 at 4.26.51 PM.png

If you bring your kids, they can take small plastic sleds down the slides. It was super cute to watch. There are so many photo opportunities too, and while the blue holds a pretty background, nothing compares to what this place is at night.

So if you do get tickets for this majestic venue, I highly recommend going at dark. It was so breathtaking to see, it cause none other than an Ice Cream craving! So off to Salt Lake City we went!

By way of recommendation, I finally tried this place. I introduce you to: NORMAL

Nestled in Trolly Square is an Ice Cream Truck that offers some unique flavors and toppings for you to tackle that Ice Cream crave! Screen Shot 2020-01-13 at 4.39.06 PM.png

They have a storefront which offers a ton of variety but we decided to take a gander at their truck this weekend.

Screen Shot 2020-01-13 at 4.39.13 PM

Their truck had four flavors to choose from and a handful of toppings. I went with Matcha Ice Cream sprinkled with Fruity Pebbles. Let me tell you… I found my new favorite Ice Cream combination. Who would have thought, match ice cream (which was vegan btw) topped with an old school favorite would be sooooooo yummy, but it was.

5 stars!

Screen Shot 2020-01-13 at 4.39.20 PM.png

All of this food talk is making me hungry so I better get to steppin’! Hope you enjoyed this weeks adventures! We will be back soon with some cool stuff but for now, go check out these awesome places and stay tuned!

Happy Monday everyone, and remember,  be kind, love each other and stay fearless ❤

Day 2 of making the shift!

Now this is what I am talking about! Last night sleep pattern was sh***y beyond belief. I was anxious, waking up every hour on the hour and just uncomfortable. A part of this is probably due to my body adjusting back to the time change, the heat and poor ass air flow in my bedroom. BUT NOTHING WAS GONNA STOP MY WORKOUT!

5:30am hit and it was on– Strength 25, that is 25 minutes of heart pumping weights and body weight exercises. You think you can’t work up a sweat… a picture can prove that statement wrong AF

.day 2 pic 5

See– I wasn’t lying. Sweaty AF!

I feel like I was on fire! Obviously I needed to refuel with some Shakeology. I have been drinking this amazing Horchata Cafe Late, a recipe I got to sample at our #CoachSummit event in #NOLA this past weekend! Recipe below!

day 2 pic 4

12 ounces Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk

1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

1 Tsp Cinnamon

1 packet Vegan Cafe Late Shakeology

Mix in shaker cup and enjoy!

Literally amazing! I make sure to fuel my body with the right foods and supplements that benefit both my Beachbody and CrossFit workouts.

Speaking of Supplements!

I tend to use quite a few so lets chat about what is on my docket these days:

The first thing you will see below is my Evogen Carnigen Fat Stack— I use this during fasted cardio sessions to help burn fat. This SHRED-Fast Stack is best used in a fasted-cardio state to accelrate fat loss by utilizing stored body fat for energy. Typically I use the  SHRED-Fast Stack with a H.I.I.T. training program, like Shift Shop.

Next you see my Shakeology, obviously I have talked endlessly about this amazing superfood protein shake. It is my go to for all my vitamins, minerals etc. It truly is the most amazing product.

Next are my BCAAs, which I use for recovery. BCAAs play a significant role in building and repairing muscle after a workout, and also act as a “signal” to your muscles that nutrients are available for increasing muscle mass. This is my favorite brand of BCAAs! The flavor is amaze!

As far as pre workout consist of, I have gone through a few different brands– I am currently cycling through Loco, Fitmiss and uplift– Loco literally makes me insane, great for AM workouts but at night I am on speed basically. Fitmiss is my go to, uplift is a close second for PM workouts. I have tried Beachbody energize but because it is so natural, it doesn’t have a big enough pump for me but is great for a beginner supplement user!

day 2 pic 6

These supplements help get me through both my AM and PM workouts, especially when my #CrossFit WODs look like this:

Day2 pic1

After a long day of work and training you have to make sure you are fueling your body with appropriate macros, below is a sample of my meals for today! I will post a full meal plan of week 2 soon!

So Day 2 is in the books, and now it is time to tackle some homework before I am off to bed! Definitely feeling a little sore so hooking up my TENS unit to get some much needed muscle relief!

From high up in the sky… We get real on the Blog today!

Hey Fitfam! Things are interesting when you are blogging from 31,000 feet! You really do get to see a whole lot. Literally.

Sun. Clouds. Blue Skies. Everything seems much calmer… more peaceful up here. You really do get to focus on the beauty that the earth has to offer.

The funny thing is I travel quiet often. So often that, TSA lines, baggage check, boarding waiting times and delays are the norm for me. It is almost second nature; I do not even need to think half the time because flying is so natural. The crazy part is it use to be such an anxiety for me.

Now I just observe. I watch people, I wonder where they are going, where they are coming from. I talk to people, I get to know people and I am helpful… why? Because perhaps they have the same anxiety I once had and maybe I just by me helping or a conversation they are put at ease.

Now normally on the blogs we would rap out about the week, what happened in the fitness world for Team Fearless Fitness etc. But tonight I am going to shift the light on something very real and I do hope that you continue to read it because the idea behind it is that in life we have choices. We have choices to stand by and watch or to help people in need. Sometimes we help people because we have to and sometimes we help people because we can and those choices define who we are as individuals.

Today as I boarded my United 737, I had premier access. Yep, first on the plane, didn’t have to check my bag (thank god) I got to get settled in to my seat and calm myself with my lavender oil before take off. All was right in the world.

I watched as the people walked past, anxiously looking to find over head bin space as the plane was full. Shocker for being a 6am flight but expected. Again, wondering where they were going, coming from etc.

A group of people were now in front of me. A lady had asked the girl across if she wanted the window seat which she did not and then proceeded to ask me. I unfortunately can not have the window seat either. For me it is more medically driven and less of a preference so politely had to decline. I could tell there was something more to that request though.

The lady took her seat in the window to my left and her group was struggling to understand the boarding process. I was a bit confused as I typically it is pretty self explanatory… walk, put your bag up, sit down. Move on. But then it hit me… the struggle was one, due to the fact half of her group was not of height to reach the bins and two, some where special needs individuals. Now my heart sank a bit. Not only was her family divided into 3 different rows but no one was helping these people place their luggage up at the top bin. The girl to my left just moved and was starring at them in disgust. The people behind them were getting pissed and all along I was growing so frustrated because to watch this was breaking my heart.

So… I unhook my belt, unstrap my beats, and at this point I am so pissed at this girl next to me for not helping as she was already up. The funny thing is I looked at her as I am doing this, (straight out of Compton blaring out my head phones) and I ask them if I can help. Of course the say yes, and I am able to get everyone’s bag up. I turn around and one person is still having problems… finally a United Captain who had jumped on our flight decided to help as well.

Throughout my flight I assisted in any way I could. Explaining how certain things worked, flashing a smile to let them know things were OK when we hit some rough turbulence etc. Why? Maybe because it is in my nature. Maybe because I hold a special place in my heart for people who have to face challenges like this. Maybe because my sister is a special needs teacher. Maybe because that is just what you are supposed to fucking do in life is help people who need it—regardless of who what or where you might be.

The purpose of me sharing this is to show the world two things:

1: Look around you- take time to open your eyes and spot people who might need you even if they do not know it. One tiny thing can make a large difference.

  1. Bringing this back to the fitness and health aspect, help yourself and do right for yourself. The next time you don’t want to do those pull ups, that run, press play on that workout. Think of this story. Think of how some people do not have the chance and can not do the things that you and I are so blessed to still be able to do.

Like I said, tonight we are getting real on the blog. I hope that this inspires you to help others, to pay it forward and to do good in the world because it can truly be so messed up.

I am making my way into State College for the week! I hope everyone has a fantastic Sunday! Stay positive, lift others #LiveLifeBeFearless!

Follow us on FB and IG for live updates during our PA trip!

That is all for now!

XOXO
